Iconix Latin America had a prominent presence at the Zona Libre 2025 Fair, held on August 27 and 28 in Colón, Panama. Recognized as the most important trade event in Latin America and the Caribbean, the fair brought together over 200 companies and merchants from 40 countries, establishing itself as a strategic hub for commerce, innovation, and leadership connections.
Representing the company, Guido Castignani, LATAM Marketing Director, highlighted the value of this first participation: “It was a great opportunity to meet new potential licensees. Although it’s not a licensing-specific fair, it takes place in the heart of the textile and fashion industry, which is the territory where we need to be to generate new business”.
One of the key takeaways was the need to educate potential clients about the licensing model. “Several companies linked to the textile sector didn’t know they could license a well-known brand and develop it locally. This led us to re-explain and educate about the advantages of working with global brands, which was very valuable,” Guido emphasized.
Iconix’s presence also set it apart from other exhibitors. “While most exhibitors were seeking wholesale clients to sell their already established brands in Zona Libre, our goal was to offer licenses for global brands available in the region. This difference in approach gave us a unique presence,” he added.
The experience confirmed the importance of being present at this regional event and planted opportunities for new partnerships. For us, “participating in this fair represented a very important step in the territory, which fills us with pride. Providing our licensees the opportunity to showcase their new collections gives us enormous satisfaction and reinforces our commitment to continue driving their growth”, added Federico Ini, Business Director for Central America.
